Content Systems Specialist

Upanup is looking for a Content Systems Specialist to join our team, someone who is as comfortable configuring a content feed as they are using AI to extract HTML content, and someone who reaches for a tool or no-code automation before considering doing it manually.

You will join our UX Content team, and provide an intersect between our content strategists and development teams. You don't need to be a front- or back-end developer, but you should enjoy working inside a CMS at a structural level and getting satisfaction from a running a clean, well-mapped content migration import.

What does the Content Systems Specialist do?

• Leverage AI tools to accelerate content mapping, transformation, and quality review tasks.
• Scrape, curate, audit, and structure source content into well-organized import-ready formats.
• Analyze and understand Drupal content types, fields, formats, and relationships that inform data migration planning.
• Configure and manage Drupal feed importers to automate content ingestion from external sources.
• Run manual migration tasks when automation is not possible, while always seeking to reduce or eliminate manual effort through tools and no-code automations.
• Conduct QA/QC on migrated content, verifying field accuracy, formatting integrity, URL structures, and media attachments against source material.
• Produce after-action reports following each migration phase, documenting what was migrated, any anomalies encountered, decisions made, and recommendations for subsequent phases.

What are the requirements for this position?

• Familiarity with CMS content architecture - content types, fields, views, and taxonomies - either through hands-on CMS configuration work or from front-end development experience.
• Experience with feed import configurations, CSV/XML data mapping, and other content import tools.
• Comfort working with structured data and HTML, with a good eye for spotting inconsistencies.
• A genuine preference for automation and tooling over manual repetition.
• Proficiency working with AI and a curiosity for how AI can be applied to improve content and data workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to document your work clearly for both internal and external audiences.

It would be great if you had:

• Familiarity with low- or no-code automation and migration tools (Drupal Feeds and ECAs, spreadsheet applications, DYNO Mapper, Screaming Frog, Make.com, Zapier, etc.)
• Experience with Drupal content configurations, specifically content types, fields, displays and views.
• Public sector or government web project experience.

Remuneration and job logistics:

• Permanent full-time position, with health benefits starting after three months.
• Three weeks of paid vacation.
• Paid personal wellness days.
• Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000, based on relevant experience.
