Why are my conversions in Google Analytics different from those in Google Ads?
You may have different conversion stats in Google Analytics and Google Ads (previously called Google AdWords).
This is because even if you have the same conversion – for example someone signing up for an enewsletter – in both Google Analytics and Google Ads, the systems may calculate it differently.
There are settings you can use in both platforms to help make your numbers as close as possible, such as the timeframe to count a conversion, but it doesn't always work out perfectly.
That said, all stats should be ‘taken with a grain of salt’. Statictics aren’t perfect, but if done well they can give you a good starting point and help to set benchmarks and trends for your marketing and communications strategy.
