An Upanup Year

I realize it's only just December and perhaps a little early for the annual retrospective, but Upanup recently celebrated the anniversary of our incorporation and I can't help but reminisce about 2012. It was a year in which we went from making our first cold calls to getting busy providing full-service solutions for a wide range of great clients.

2012 Year in Review

Early on, Upanup got off to a running start by launching a website for a unique start-up service, Urban Hamper, who wanted a strong mobile presence.  Next, we inundated ourselves with board games, puzzles and more from Outset Media, an award-winning and prolific game maker. Before we knew it, our team had also established energy sector presence with new online solutions for Westbridge Energy and Hemisphere Energy.

Following up on our early success, we began working with Western Forest Products, one of B.C.'s largest companies, to solve a unique challenge of improving a recent website build and developing a CMS-driven, creative digital presentation. It was around this time that we received exciting news that we'd be working with Encorp Pacific on their mobile strategy for return-it.ca (find the nearest location on your smartphone!). The resulting mobile solution recently won a Platinum MarCom Award, which we're quite proud of and thankful for the great people at Encorp and Stargate for the successful collaboration.

Soon after, we were knee-deep in an eCommerce project for TPC Financial (Gold MarCom Award-winning), and working with other great companies like Ecosafe Natural Products and Immuno Precise, and with Pure Multi-Family REIT. While all this was happening, Alterra Power entrusted Upanup to drive an online investor marketing campaign.

But that was just the beginning; Upanup ramped it up to produce a forward-thinking, creative and content-driven municipal website for the District of Oak Bay, which included the integration of Recreation Oak Bay's substantial online space.

Upanup has also established a productive working relationship with Neverblue and GlobalWide, and helped launch the mobile-centric web solution for their mobile division: Pulse Mobile.

As you can tell, we've had a pretty successful first-year campaign establishing ourselves in the idyllic setting of Victoria and have had a lot of fun doing it (three bulls-eyes, no way!). It's been our pleasure working with our wonderful clients, many of whom we continue to oversee their online presence, and we look forward to helping many more organizations and companies reach a higher-level of online marketing and communications in 2013.
