Upanup wins 11 website design awards in 2016
Upanup is pleased to report another year of growth and production success in 2016, meaning we need to make room on our award wall to highlight more digital masterpieces. For its size, Upanup is a top award-winning digital agency in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
In 2016 we continued our growth, adding some great clients and talent to our team, and we picked up another 11 international awards. The awards come from various competitions through the year - W3 Awards, Davey Awards, Marcom Awards, AVA Awards and Communicator Awards. Since 2012, Upanup’s digital design and development work has now garnered 44 international awards, the most of any digital or marketing agency based in Victoria.
Some of the sites that won recent awards were those that we wrote about recently in our blog. These included the Hardwoods Inc. and EcoSafe Natural Products that were awarded gold Marcom awards, and the North Vancouver Recreation and Culture website grabbed a silver Davey award.
At this point, Upanup still has a number of new websites launched in the past year that haven’t been submitted to awards programs yet. This includes the new City of Kelowna website designed and developed by Upanup that was launched in mid-December.
What does success mean?
When our clients succeed, we succeed. Each client has different needs, different audiences and a different vision of what they want their site to do. Whether it’s wanting to be more user-friendly and accessible, reaching new audiences, adding new functionality, turning clicks into conversions or revamping the visual design, each client is unique, something we can appreciate. So for us, success is when our work and their vision meet.

We don’t create sites with the intention of winning awards, we see awards as a side affirmation of the quality produced in months of hard work, our commitment to our values and our ability to bring our clients’ vision to life.
